Elizabeth Stuart, Queen of Bohemia

The wife of Frederick V, Elector Palatine, Electress Palatine and briefly Queen of Bohemia. Because her husband’s reign in Bohemia lasted for just one winter, Elizabeth is often referred to as The Winter Queen.  Named in honour of Queen Elizbeth I.

From Austin Dobson: “Elizabeth Stuart, 15.96-1662, daughter of James I., mother of the princes Maurice and Rupert; her youngest daughter was Sophia, Electress of Hanover, whose eldest son was George I. ”
