Summary

When Evelyn mentions Villefrow, I believe he is referring to Vilvoorde, specifically the area of Domein Drie Fonteinen (Domain of the Three Foundtains).

In 1565 a fountain was constructed at the lock on the Scheldt near Vilvoorde.  The fountain apparently had four nozzles built in four directions which provided drinking water.   It seems the fountain consisted of a Doric column with shadow grooves, topped by a gilded statue of St. Michael , the patron of the city of Brussels. By 1850 the fountain no longer existed.
