Described by Austin Hoben in a footnote as:
“Christopher Plantin, 1514-69,—“ first printer to the King, and the King of printers.” His “ shop,” altered and extended by the architect, Pierre Dens, is now the Plantin-Moretns Museum,
to which a delightful volume has been devoted by Mr. Theo. L. De Vinne (Grolier Club, New York, 1888).”
