Summary

The Château de Richelieu was a large and beautiful castle that Cardinal Richelieu had built in Touraine, on the site of the du Plessis family mansion. It was mainly destroyed in the 19th century and sold for buiding materials.

The castle was at the heart of a several hectare park located south of the current city; there primarily accessed through an avenue to the north, from the walled town.
